If you export goods from South Africa to one these countries and you have a SADC Certificate, you’ll benefit greatly.
As part of its long-term goals for Regional Integration, SADC established a Free Trade Area in 2008. Within this area, member states removed tariffs on trade with one another, but were free to levy their own external tariffs on imports from non-member nations.
The economic benefits expected from Regional Integration, as shown elsewhere around the world, include increased market size, improved intra-regional trade and investment flows, and increased transfer of technology and experience.

The main objectives of Southern African Development Community (SADC) are to achieve economic development, peace and security, and growth, alleviate poverty, enhance the standard and quality of life of the peoples of Southern Africa, and support the socially disadvantaged through Regional Integration.

As identified in the definitions, a certificate of origin is issued by a competent authority of the exporting country. Self-issued certificates of origin and declarations of origin may be issued by the producer, manufacturer, exporter or importer.
